Scottish Cyclocross Series - Irvine 23rd November
The seventh round of the popular Scottish Cyclocross Series took place on Sunday 23rd November on a challenging course at Irvine Beach Park. The event, organised by Walkers Cycling Club and sponsored by Walkers Cycling, attracted over 50 competitors. Howling winds and ice-like rain sand-blasted the riders to add to the challenge of a course designed by Neil Walker.

Walkers Cycling is an accredited Tacx Test Centre |
It used to be that if you couldn't get out on the bike, for whatever reason, you had two choices - skip training and let your schedule slip, or take 'the road to nowhere' on a stationary home trainer.
Well, wave goodbye to 'turbo trainer boredom'! Home training has been brought up-to-date with the Virtual Reality (VR) training system from Tacx.
Tacx has long been known as the name in stationary trainers but the Tacx Virtual Reality system takes the concept to an entirely new level.
In Tacx VR worlds you can be a 'trackie' in a virtual velodrome or go off-road in cross country or downhill MTB. Fancy road racing in the Milan - San Remo or Tour of Flanders? You can with Tacx Real Life Video.*
There are three Tacx VR trainers in the range - choose from the Fortius Multiplayer, Fortius and i-Magic - which differ in colour, software interface, braking system and price.
Load the Tacx VR software on your computer, connect it to your Tacx VR trainer - and you can experience the magic of cycling in virtual worlds. **
The basic software for the three trainers is identical and comprises:
3 Virtual Reality terrains with computer animated images; Real Life Video software with a 6km demo of the Majorca Tour; Catalyst training programmes aimed at power, heart rate and gradient which you use to conduct professional fitness testing; Analyzer software to display training sessions you have carried out with charts and tables; 4 free weeks of Fortius Multiplayer software (online racing)
We can't really do justice to this amazing system in the space available here so, to find out more, visit the Tacx Virtual Reality web site or come on down to the shop where you can try our i-Magic demo system.
We also stock Tacx trainer accessories including the floor mat, steering frame, sweat covers, and hard wearing trainer tyres.
* A Real Life Video demo is included with the basic software. Over 20 other titles are available to purchase on dual layer DVD.
** Windows PCs only. See recommended system resources on the Tacx VR web site. |
