Special Needs Cycles
At Walkers Cycling we like to help as many people as possible enjoy cycling. Disabled people value mobility more than most and we have supplied several specialist or adapted cycles to children and adults with special needs over the years.
Our principal manufacturer of special needs cycles is Mission Cycles - a UK based, family run business with many years experience in servicing this important market. Mission are the experts in their field and boast a range of cycles to suit most requirements.
Two Wheels Good - Three Wheels Better!
A Mission tricycle can provide a stable and confidence inspiring machine for the rider with balance problems. Folding models - easily stowed in a car boot - are available to help the rider expand his or her horizons.
An impressive range of trike accessories is available to complement the Mission range. Fully adjustable back and side rests, dual function brake levers, self-leveling pedals with toe clips and straps and parent/carer control handles can all be fitted to Mission trikes.
Mission also do trailer trikes on which a child or adult can be towed behind an adult's cycle. The towed rider can pedal as much or as little as they like and there is a six-speed version to help smooth out those hilly roads.
Style and Quality Come as Standard
We firmly believe that special needs customers should be able to enjoy the same high quality and modern styling as everyone else and to this end Mission Cycles use durable, good quality components to construct contemporary special needs machines that are just as cool as so-called 'normal' cycles.

Sizing a Special Needs Cycle:
There is no specific rule that dictates what size of cycle is right for the rider. Frame sizes vary between different manufacturers and different styles of bike. The rider's level of cycling skill and confidence will also affect the choice of size.
At Walkers Cycling however, we believe there is simply no substitute for a rider trying the cycle for size. We will gladly adjust the handlebars and/or saddle of any cycle to help you determine the most appropriate size of cycle for your needs.
* Every new
adult's bike
purchased after 1st September 2009 qualifies
for free services after 6 weeks and 6 months
and two money off vouchers. Every new child's
bike (up to and including 24" wheel
size) purchased after 1st January 2010
qualifies for a free service after 6 weeks.
Money off vouchers can only be redeemed
against any parts and accessories purchased
when the bike comes in for its free service/s.
