In 1981 Scot Nicol constructed the first Ibis bicycle in a little workshop in Mendocino California. Someone saw this first bike and asked, “Can you build me one?” Scot said yes, one thing led to another and Ibis now build some of the finest, most innovative bicycles on the planet.

Ibis build mouthwatering desirable carbon road and cyclocross bikes along with beautifully light carbon hardtail and full sus mountain bikes. Quality, not quantity, is the name of the Ibis game and while their range of frame sets is fairly small, the company offer a tempting choice of component kits allowing a fair degree of customisation in the spec.

The Ibis Tranny It’s a carbon fibre hardtail. It’s a geared bike. It’s a single speed. It’s a travel bike. It’s all of the above. The Tranny is a strong, lightweight monocoque carbon fibre hardtail that has some unique features like the removable, adjustable-length, chainstay.
